The National Centre for Emergency Management Studies (NCEMS) provides training and professional development for emergency personnel and volunteers seeking to increase their skills in executing their roles. This includes mitigating against, preparing for, responding to and recovering from disasters and emergencies. Our training promotes strong performance, is based on practical workplace exercises, and provides a solid foundation for leadership roles.
NCEMS offers the qualification PUA60112 Advanced Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management). This qualification includes the units of competency required by emergency services to perform a range of organisational activities such as working with the community and other key stakeholders prior to, during and after an emergency incident and developing and implementing strategic plans. It typically involves the planning for and management of major risks.
For the ultimate in flexibility, NCEMS participants can choose to undertake accredited training or professional development. NCEMS has ‘Hosting arrangements’ where an organisation can request the delivery of a unit of study at a particular location or for their staff only.
Our Facilitators have significant training experience, they are nationally recognised experts and emergency practitioners. The practical experience, knowledge and skills NCEMS Facilitators bring to each course are the key to our quality courses.
